Trip to Tiffin Motorhome Factory Red Bay, Alabama

We had a wonderful time touring the factory and getting to
see all the facility there in Red Bay.
I can see why everyone goes there for repairs and service.
They have all the parts right there and never would have to order anything.
Even with the windshields they told us that they have
every size necessary even back to older models.

It was great to exrience the rain storms.  I wish we could have brought some back home with us.
I got a little carried away taking pictures in the factory and had to
cut back.  I just tried to post the ones that my motorhome friends would like to see.

We have to go now to the dealership to see if our car is ready to roll !   We are ready to be home ~

Hope you enjoy our blog.

                                         Planning out our trip.

                                         Crossing the Mississippi River

This was at the Welcome Center at the Mississippi State Line.
The grounds here were so pretty with Crape Myrtles and
Magnolia Trees.  There were also cannons on the hill.

I loved Ol' Glory on top of the bridge crossing the Mississippi River.

What I like about the South the most is the History of the Civil War.

Dan letting me know that the office was closed.

I Loved the pretty landscape here by the river and the two bridges.

Ol'Glory and the Mississippi State Flag

We arrived in Red Bay, Alabama about 1 A.M. on Thursday morning.
We checked in at Tiffin Service Center early Thursday, Aug. 4th.
This place is hugh.
They have 49 Service Bays with a Warehouse all under one roof.
The floors are spotless.
I have never been in a garage, service department , that was so clean.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful here.
Never have I been anywhere where almost everyone has atleast one dog with them.
And some of them have 2.
The dogs are welcome in the Customer Waiting Room.  They love the A/C and laying on
the cool tile floor!

We got into a service bay about 3:00 on Friday.
I was really scared they might not get our A/C working for the weekend.
Monday morning we hope to be able to get our other problems worked out.
I am not sure about the windshield. Hopefully Monday maybe Tuesday and the latest.

This is the parking area.  You can see our car there on the left.
Of course the coach is in the service bay.
The building in the background is where you check in with a store there too.
Of course this is late on Friday afternoon and alot of the coaches have gone home at this time.

Dan going out to the coach.  We were in Bay # 5

Saturday moring we went to Wal-Mart in Russellville, Alabama.

You can't go camping without finding a Wal-Mart !!

We always find Treasures !

This was Tax-Free Weekend so there were lots of Specials !!

The weather is pretty good here.  It has been overcast all day and
a slight sprinkle ever now and then.
We walked around the camping area here and
got to meet a couple from South Carolina.
They had a 32' Breeze.  It was very nice.
However, I still like our 36' the best.
They don't have a washer and dryer and with that small
amount of storage space I would have to have a washer.
Guess I am spoiled now, thanks to Gilbert !!

We saw this neat car Sunday morning as we went for
a drive,  pretty cool color, right ?
Think Dan would look pretty cool driving a purple car ?

   Along Natchez Parkway

Big Barge coming down the river.

This was very interesting how they opened and closed the locks and raise the water in the  River.
This was a man made cut that we saw today .
It goes between the Tennessee River to the Tom Bigbee River
The river flows down to Mobile, Alabama.

We decided we would take our walk for the day
and check out all the new RV's that have come in
today.   Man the parking area is full .

As we come back around to the camper we noticed the clouds .
Storm is coming.  I just missed the lightening in the picture.

These are some nasty looking clouds.
Wish we could send this rain to our house !!

Monday, August 8th
We got a call this morning to go to Service Bay # 7.
We are happy about that.
This means we may be able to head home soon.

I told the gentlemen this was the cleanest shop I had ever been in.
He told me that they come in every night with a big machine and
clean the floors.

The motorhome next to us was having windows replaced.

These were the two gentlemen that worked on our motorhome.
Here they were trying to figure what was the matter with
the spray hose at my kitchen sink.
Finally figured it out, it was a little black gadget on the hose under the sink.
They were very nice and polite. Fixed all our little problems for us.

It rained again this afternoon.  Seems like a daily thing around here. About 4:00
every day the big black clouds come rolling in.
The temperture is about 72.
I truly wish we could bring some of this back with us.

We are hoping they may put our windshield in tomorrow. !!!

Tuesday morning  8:20,  moving in line to have the windshield put in.
We are going to tour the factory this morning at 9:30.
Afterwards we get to tour the new 2012 coaches.

It is raining again this morning. It has been a real treat to see someone get rain.

Diane was one of the tour guides.  She handed out
head phones and safety glasses.

It get rather loud with the machines in the factory and hard to hear.

Red was the greater for the tour. A very sweet man.

This is the ceiling molding that he was working on.

                                              Starting of cabinets.

There are alot of women who work in the making of these beautiful motorhomes.
These ladies were doing the inlays of the cabinet doors.

                                                                This was the chaise.

Engines

She was doing the wiring .  I was impressed.

She is laying out the floor plan of the motorhome.
